How I Went From GRN to WMI and back to GRN…
I initially joined with Global Resorts Network in March of 2008. At the time, the only online marketing system available to GRN affiliates was the Reverse Funnel System. I was not a fan of this system at all for a number of reasons.
- It branded Ty Coughlin and the imagery attracted a certain kind of person, people I did not work well with.
- It is extremely over priced, or at least it was at that time, it may have changed over the last year…
- There was no training other than per per click and banner advertising tools and advice, and even that was sub par.
I did my best as a new member to market the business through my own efforts, but I didn’t have the budget to invest in paid advertising, and Web 2.0 marketing takes time to master. I did okay and managed to make a few sales but was quickly over my head trying to help my team replicate my success and teach them how to effectively market online.
Fast forward to a few months later, my downline either gave up or moved on to another opportunity leaving me feeling foolish and disappointed. But, not one to be defeated, I continued to research and study internet marketing as well as other direct sales companies. This is how I found Carbon Copy Pro and Wealth Masters International.
What appealed to me so much about this opportunity was the turn key marketing system and marketing training support. I was not as enthused about the WMI product as I was about the GRN product, but I was able to look beyond that with the prospect of being able to effectively support my team with CCPro.
At first glance, the Carbon Copy Pro is a turn key marketing system when in fact it is a money machine for the creators. You think you have a complete system for the $400 and $150 month fee, but once you dive into the set up and training there are all sorts of hidden charges and other “services” you need to really use the system properly.
The other snag I encountered with the CCPro/WMI business was over the holidays. Once again, I was able to recruit a few folks and make some sales. Over the holidays things got a little hectic and it was all I could do to support my team. A few weeks passed and I didn’t make a sale. This was okay with me, but apparently this is no “allowed” by WMI.
If I did not make a sale within the next week I was going to have to either forfeit my affiliate status and downline or pay a fee to keep my status active. This was not okay, so I left.
Back to the drawing board! I picked myself up, dusted myself off once again and began to rebuild once more.
